Raised in the Central Coast of California, Joe Acampora has been a self employed Tile and Stone Setter for over 25 years. He also specializes in the Restoration and Sealing of Mexican Tiles and various Stone . He began his work with Custom designing and making Mosaics over 20 years ago. He has done work in both residential and commercial properties. Some of Joe's Mosaic  pieces have been featured  in magazines and news papers. A passion for the craft, he prides himself on his attention to detail, patience, and a drive for creating and completing unique and one of a kind Mosaic Art projects. Extremely small pieces give each Mosaic design detail and dimension needed for the intricate work. Most of the tiny Mosaic pieces require being set with tweezers and knifes due to there size. Tightly set fractured or cracked pieces of Tile or Stone add to the beauty of a Mosaic. With the experience  of  being a Tile Setter, Joe has worked with a wide variety of Ceramic and Porcelain Tiles, Saltillo, Tecate, Slate, Limestone, Marble, Granite, Shell, and other materials.  All of the porous Stone and Tile Mosaics are Sealed for protection and or Enhanced to bring out it's natural colors. Customized  Tile and Stone Color Staining give an aged "old world" look which bring  interest to any design project. With Joe's experience, the knowledge of proper materials and Setting techniques are applied for the longevity of a Tile or Stone project. Joe's incredible Mosaic designs will last for years to admire. From the consulting, designing, creating and completing of a Mosaic   piece comes a sense of accomplishment.

" First the idea and then the designing of the Mosaic. Now comes the sketching  and choosing of the right materials, colors, and textures.  With hours of cutting and nipping thousands of pieces of tile I prepare to start setting. Using my old tweezers I set the first piece of tile, about 1/4"  square.  I sit back and realize it's going to be a long time before I see the light at the end of the tunnel. Ha. Slowly, piece by piece and image forms like a puzzle of shining gems."
